12min video loop of a moving sky projected inside the Gibraltar Point lighthouse, May 2016.

Gibraltar Point Lighthouse is the oldest existing lighthouse on the Great Lakes and one of Toronto's first free-standing structures. The island is a sand dune whose landscape shifts often and though the now decommissioned lighthouse once stood on the shore, sand has built up over time so that it now stands about 100 meters inland.

The image of the sky relates both to the title of the show – SIGNALS – with the sky serving as the main conductor of messages between people, and to the current landscape of Toronto with the image of the reflected sky referencing the dozens of new developments of glass-walled condominiums in the city.
